static width for center column

This has been answered so i am sorry but i can not get my head around how to do what i'm looking to do. I am attempting to create a new template. sorry right now i can not provide a url i know everyone wants that but i can not yet. anyway i created a new template according to this url https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=142 came out great and was what i was looking to do. I would like to make the center column a static width and i really could not care less how much the left or right column grow the center needs to stay the same. How on earth can i accomplish this?

Make the template size static - - Done in your stylesheet by defining a static width for the mainWrapper

if your left & right are 150px each and you want the center to be statically at 600px set the mainWrapper width to 900px
