help question Mass Application of Attributes

I am sure the answer is no and I will be spending hours setting these up - but I need to ask ......

Is there a simple way to apply all the attributes of an Option assigned to a product is one go?

The situation - we sell a product that has up to eight spots for a different character to be included - so I have 8 Options (Position 1 through to Position 8) - and in each of these positions there can be one of the set of 102 characters.

So so far I have created Position 1 and the 102 Character Options and assigned them individually through the Attributes Controller.

I don't want to have to do this another 7 times if I can at all avoid it.

    Any ideas ??

Go to the Option Name Manage ... there is a section where you can:
Add ALL Option Values to ONE products for Option Name
Update ONE product that has at least ONE Option Value and Add ALL Option Values in an Option Name
Add ALL Option Values to ONE Category of products for Option Name
Update ONE Category of products, when the product has at least ONE Option Value and Add ALL Option Values in an Option Name
If you have a number of Products that need the same Option Name/Values you can setup 1 Product will all the Attributes you want for the other Products and then there is a Copy to Product or Copy to Category of products in the Attributes Controller ...

Back-ups are a more than daily routine at the moment.

Just as well - I think I killed it :)

Having added the bazillion attributes, I knew it would slow the page load down - but now it times out

I get the following message when I try and look at it under PREVIEW ATTRIBUTES .......

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in /[trimmed]/shop/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 411

But when I look at that file there is nothing useful on line 411 - certainly not anything that looks like a timeout period .... any suggestions ?

If you look in the Catalog at the Product itself what happens?

In the catalog the product was fine because none of the attributes showed up.

I turned off a heap of settings under the admin > attributes and it took less than 2 seconds to load - amazing what a few queries will do to a large attribute list .

Seems to be all working .... here
