My site is completely down. getting error 500- internal server error. does this have to do with ZenCart, or is it my server host?

Unless you made some recent changes it could have been a Server situation; rebooting for example if your site was down for 10 minutes or less. Mind you, this is presuming you check your site after making changes to verify your site changes.
