I've tried searching for this all over the forum but to no avail - I'm very sorry if I missed anything.

The issue I am having is a general layout one with the "Select State/Province" drop down on the Login page.

(I have selected "State - Always display as pull down: True" in Admin)

What happens is the box becomes very long (to accommodate the name of the longest state present) and it looks very unprofessional. The "countries" drop down on the other hand is a good (small) size when not expanded and increases in width when selected.

Could you please tell me where I can find the code or admin panel setting to make the state box like the country box?
