help question Changing Customer Authorization Status

Hi, I would like to change the Authorization Status of some of my existing customers but it doesn't seem to work. I did a test on my brother's account (he happens to be one of my customers), I changed his status to: "May browse with price but may not buy". But when he tried it, he was still brought all the way to the PayPal log-in page which means he can still make purchase although his status has been changed to "May browse with price but may not buy". I also tested it with my own test accounts - the results are the same...

Any help/info on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

What you posted is not an option down to the individual customer

    What are your settings for

admin > config > my store > Store Status
admin > config > customer details > Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
admin > config > customer details > Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending

Oh I see. So I first have to set in the Admin > Config > Customer Details > Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending > then choose 3= Customer May Browse and May see Prices but Must be Authorized to Buy. Will this automatically applied to all existing customers or only to new ones?

After this is done, will I then be able to apply setting for existing individual customers, i.e.:
Admin > Customers > Customers > Click on a Customer > Edit > Set setting: Customers Authorization Status : Pending Approval - May Browse with Prices but May Not Buy.

Thanks so much for your help!

Oh and currently the setting for Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices is 0 (Not required). Do I have to change this in order to be able to apply the settings I want above?

    Thanks again!

A customer is either waiting authorizaton - with whatever settings you have

    or

    is authorized

    No Individual settings per customer
currently the setting for Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices is 0 (Not required). Do I have to change this in order to be able to apply the settings I want above?
    All settings work together

You failed to post what your settings were

Is there any way to set individual customer status without requiring approval for all new customers? I don't want to force anyone to log in to see prices or add items to the shopping cart.

But.....I NEVER want to have to approve a customer when they sign up and make their initial purchase, but I ALWAYS want to be able to disable someone's account once they have created it, at any time without deleting it, so they have to contact me before they buy something.

I found the answer - Must have latest Version 1.3.8(?) for this option. (Was not able to delete / alter the original post)

I want to accomplish what LRS does. Customer can browse and add to cart without having to log in. My settings are:

admin > config > my store > Store Status > 0 (Normal Store)
admin > config > customer details > Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices > 0
admin > config > customer details > Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending > 0

But, whenever a customer adds a product to his cart, he is immediately taken to the customer login screen with a sort of nasty message saying that "No Valid Account Found".

What am I missing? ZenCart admin screen reports that I am running the latest version (1.8x?)
