Disabled products still showing up?

So I disable a product.... however where it says "New Products for February" in the main body of my site the product is still showing up! It doesn't show up in the category list, but when you click on it in new products it simply says the product cannot be found. I did not modify the core of zen cart at all. Is this a bug in the system?
