Can I do Tax calculation over a certain base amount?

Hi,

I am running version 1.3.8a.

In MA clothing is generally exempt from the sales tax, but any individual clothing item costing more than $175 is taxable on the amount over the basic exemption. i.e. if you sell something for $200, only $25 are taxed.

I've been trying to find a way or an add-on that would allow me to set up such tax calculation.

Does anybody know how to set this up? any add-on, existing or in development?

If you sell 2 items for $200 and $180 ... is that $25 and $5 that is taxable or does it take the total and tax all but $175?

I don't have a solution but it is something that might help in seeking an answer ...

Yes, items are taxed individually, so $25 & $5 would be taxed in your example

I don't have an immediate solution for you on this, but I thought this question had been asked about in the past ... but I do not recall if anyone has managed a solution for this ...
