    Default Brand New to Zen-Cart: Question regarding temp URL

    I am taking my first tab at an ecommerce site and after looking around decided to go with zen-cart. I am going through bluehost as the hosting site. They feature a "one click" install. I have used this to install zen-cart on bluehost, but I currently have not changed where my DNS server points (I already have a shopping cart site that is currently running on my URL). The live chat at bluehost gave me my temp URL and said that I can change where zen-cart looks for my site in one of the files. If anyone could help me locate where I need to change I would be most appreciative. I have basically been going through files and using Firefox Find tool trying to scan for my current URL to change to the temp.

    Thank You

    admin/includes/configure.php and includes/configure.php. These are best edited by downloading them to your local computer with an FTP program like Filezilla (free), making your changes using a good text editor like Crimson Editor or Notepad++ (both free) and then uploading the changed file to the appropriate folder.

    Thank You for the quick reply. I have found the file you mentioned. To give you a little more info my current URL is www.proskit.com and my temp URL is http://69.89.31.197/~proskitc/ . I have changed lines 29-32 to ...

    define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://69.89.31.197/~proskitc/');
    define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://69.89.31.197/~proskitc/');
    define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://69.89.31.197/~proskitc/');
    define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://69.89.31.197/~proskitc/');

    I thought that alone would work, but the temp URL is still searching for links/images etc at www.proskit.com .

    First - Don't change the temporary URL until you are read to "go live"

    Second - Get your 301 redirects from your old URLs ready so that you don't lose your traffic and page ranks.
    Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

    Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

    Kim, I don't plan on changing the temp URL anytime soon. I know this site redesign is going to take some time. I have some HTML and Dreamweaver experience, but this is all new to me. Right now my main concerns are setting up zen-cart to use my Temp URL and hopefully that also alows me to use the admin page.
