Default Changing XP file Permissions !

I'm installing ZenCart v1.3.8a on my XP local computer to test and customize templates. On my web server there is a simple but effective way to change permissions. There, I can simply check any of 9 boxes to make the needed changes, or just type in the number at the bottom of the dialogue box, like 777, or 755, or whatever.

I have yet to find a utility that allows me to make such changes on my XP computer. The properties does not have the security tab needed to do such a thing. Where can I find a utility to perform the task of property/attribute changes?

    freeware: petges.lu

The above link takes you to "Attributes Canger". It's a freeware permissions editor that is most convenient for your local computer. Just right click on any file or folder and select "Change Attributes..." from your context menu. What could be simpler?

At least you could find a utility for it:) My 10 year old computer (with FAT32 file system) does not have the capacity to set permissions for files, only for users. It has been annoying to see that warning bar every time I use my local test site. Fortunately that is about to change (if all goes well)... See you on the other side!

All I do is right click on the file and I can set the attributes in both NTFS, and FAT32..... of coarse, no user permission in FAT, just NTFS. I don't use a program ether.... and my testing server is happy....

Fortunately, I won't have to worry about that any more... just have to reinstall all my web development utilities on the "new" machine (only 5 years old). No more 10 gig hard drive! :)
