red flag Keep losing work that has been done

I have recently installed Zencart and have made changes. However, I have now gone back in and the site has reverted back and none of my changes are there. This has happened on more than one occasion.

The site is hosted on Catalyst and the following messages are displayed through Fantastico

    Install Zen Cart (3/3)

    /home/dchdcouk/public_html/includes/configure.php configured

Warning: fopen(/home/dchdcouk/public_html/includes/configure.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1267021419.30920zvsGL2o5t4 on line 1484

When these errors appear the site reverts back and I lose all that has been done.

This is very frustrating as each time I work on it I lose all that has been done.

Does anyone know why this is happening? How can I stop this from happening again?

    Thanking you in anticipation.

The provided error message is the last step of ZenCart installation through Fantastico. It also means that the installation was not properly finalized.

What I fail to understand is - How a new installation through Fantastico is related to an installation you have already performed. Are you overwriting the old installation? Fantastico should not allow you to do so.

Basically - once you have performed the installation through Fantastico you dont need to get back there. You should access the new online store and its administrator area via its URL. Something like:

    http://mystore.com and http://mystore.com/admin

You do not need to log in cPanel -> Fantastico.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I had already installed Zen Cart and had worked on the store but clicked on the wrong link and ended up going to Fantastico where I saw this error message.

Even if I don't go back to Fantastico, I am concerned that the site will not work properly as it has thrown up these error messages.
