Newsletter MOd-box_header_subscription

I've just installed Newsletter V 2.1.1 for zen Cart v1.3.8.
Everything is great except for my Header name it shows up as
BOX_HEADING_SUBSCRIBE and below the header is
BOX_SUBSCRIBE_DEFAULT_TEXT in the EMail box is :HEADER_SUBSCRIBE and finally under the TEXT is HEADER SUBSCRIBE BUTTON

Now obviously I have to go and change the template file, but when I attempt to change anything the sidebox disappears.

Did you change all the YOUR_TEMPLATE folders in the mod to the name of your template?

I uploaded each file individually through Mozilla. I felt that this was safer.
Was I wrong.
I rechecked and even built a schematic of the files that I was downloading.
Re-checked and everything seems to have been uploaded

Those are defined in includes/english/extra_definitions /YOUR_TEMPLATE/newsletter_subscribe_definitions.php, so maybe you missed that one?

there is no such file: newsletter_subscribe_definitions.php in the downloaded module.
Im assuming you meant includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/My template/newsletter_subscribe_definitions.php
and not includes/english??
I'll go and re-download the module and see if that file is in there this time.

I redownloaded the mod. and checked the above mentioned file and found it. I uploaded it to the appropriate location and everything was OK.

Hi all,

I was wondering the best way to go about editing the look of newsletter subscribe side box ONLY.

I ONLY want to edit that side box in particular.

I would like to:

1. Edit the size of the text inside the email entry box. (Enter email here)

2. Add an image below the Mods title in the sidebox.

3. edit the color of the text in the MOD's side box.

Though I'm ok with the coding itself... how I go about doing this in the correct way I'm not sure. There is no css for me to edit and how I go about adding CSS classes and naming them etc in Zen cart I would love to know.

Any answers appreciated. An example would be best!

You need to install the Firefox browser and the Web Developer plugin for Firefox. You can use those to see where in the stylesheet you change the styling of the various sideboxes.

Ctrl-Shift-Y will allow you to hover over a section of the page and see the class and id names for that section in the box at the top. The statements in the stylesheet that begin with # are id's and the ones that begin with dots are classes.

Ctrl-Shift-E will open the CSS editor and allow you to edit the stylesheet and see the changes in real time without changing anything permanently. A very handy tool.

With most sideboxes in Zencart, the id with a 'Heading' after it will style the sidebox header. (Note:CSS is case-sensitive.) In your case, the id of that box is #subscribe. So the Heading would be #subscribeHeading and the content would be #subscribeContent, etc.
