    Default Suddenly started: PayPal Shows Payment made...nothing in Orders on store

    Hi....

    I kinda have the same question as mentioned with the earlier post with the person using godaddy. My issue is that we were not with godaddy and when a customer buys an item on our store and uses the CC option, Check or Money Order...everything works as it should.

    When the customer uses paypal, I get all their contact info, but it is not showing what they bought or the amount. Yet over in our business paypal account it show the payment and when you click details over there...just says they bought item # (but there is no number or description).

    I followed the steps correctly and as a matter of fact, the first two that did pay using paypal worked great two weeks ago and now this.

    Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

    Similar issue here. PayPal worked until today. We had similar trouble with eChecks, so I had the site owner disable those. Regular PayPal payments worked fine until today. The site owner gets paid, gets a notice from PayPal with the payment noted, but no information about the item purchased. It just says "Purchase" and "item#" with no item number or item description.

    I too have exactly the same issue this morning.

    I have paypal notification of a payment

    but no order showing on my email or in my zen cart orders

    the paypal payment does include a zen customer reference number ad is labelled 'zen cart store purchase' as usual

    Really apreciate any help - now have to email all my customers to work out what they've bought.

    There is also a similar problem coming up using Website Payments Standard (IPN) when people use eCheck or their own credit card through PayPal. Once the payment is completed through PayPal, the normal course of action is PayPal returns the customer to the checkout system of my Zen Cart. With eCheck or Credit card payments, the customer can choose to close out their PayPal session without returning to my cart. This is where problems happen. PayPal sees the transaction as complete, but my cart is left in the lurch, waiting for the final steps to close out the sale.

    The only current fix I could find for this was to install and configure PayPal Express Checkout instead of PayPal Standard Payments (formerly, just called PayPal IPN). Express Checkout takes you to PayPal first, then completes the sale, meaning if your customer interrupts the process, the sale is not completed at all. No crossed signals between the cart and PayPal and no digging through log files or IPN e-mails to find out who bought what because they interrupted the checkout process.
