    Default Shipping costs instead of weight

    I would like to ask if it is possible to display Shipping costs instead of showing the Shipping weight to the product info? If it is possible, I would like to know how can I do it. Thanks. ;)

    For example:

    now it shows this:

    * Model: 06S-001
    * Shipping Weight: 0.31lbs
    * Manufactured by: Alps

    And I would like this:

    * Model: 06S-001
    * Shipping Costs: 7 EUR
    * Manufactured by: Alps

    How will you determine what the cost will be?

    Thank you for the fast reply. Well, the shipping values are already determined and calculated in shipping module and it calculates like it should with every order. So, there is no problem with that.
    I just thought I would rather display Shipping costs instead of the shipping weight if this is possible?

    Well not if I do not have an account or not logged in....
    Does not know my address yet...
    You would have to pull code from the estimator into the tpl_product_info_displat.php file and wrap it in an if with some alternative for non logged in lookers

    I really donīt know what do you mean by that. I know a costumer has to be registered to make an order. And of course with every order the shipping is calculated. I said I donīt have any problem with that.
    I just thought if it is possible to display shipping costs instead of the shipping weight which is displayed under the product in the shop.

    I think what kobra was getting at was:

    I come to your store and click on a product which takes me to the product info page.

    Right now, there's a shipping weight displayed. In order to show me a shipping cost, you (or Zencart) would have to know where I am in the world to calculate that cost, which means I would have to log in first.

    I think kobra was suggesting that you could take the shipping estimator code and embed some of it in the product info page so the visitor would be prompted for his zip code. Seems like a lot of work for little return.

    All this assumes you don't have flat rate shipping. If you do, you could probably write some code that would multiply the weight by the rate and display it on the product info page ...
