help question How to upload PDF product manuals?

    Hello everyone!

This site/forum has been a huge help to me so I would first like to thank everyone for posting their questions & those who were kind enough to answer -- thank you all!

I didn't find any posts for what I'm trying to do so here goes:

I would like to upload product manuals to a page on my site for customers to download. They are PDF files & I'd like to upload them to "Page 4" (which I've renamed "Product Manuals"). How would I go about doing this? In the Define Pages Editor there are options to add links or pictures but not download-able files .. Any ideas?

I've uploaded them to my /secure/docs folder.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Idea or Suggestion Re: How to upload PDF product manuals

Without going into great details, you will need to upload your pdf's with an FTP client like Filezilla.

Do some searches on using ftp to upload files.

So, even though I've already uploaded them to my server I need to upload them again with Filezilla or similar before I can put them on my site? Sounds a bit redundant but then, I'm a newbie ... so ... maybe I'm just not understanding it.

Then if you have already uploaded your files, just create links to them. http://www.yourdomain.com/PDF/filename.pdf

    Or whatever the path is.

It would also be good to avoid any spaces or strange characters in the filenames as it may cause download problems for some of your customers with older browsers or other client software.
