Default Ye Old SSL Erros & Displaying unsecure content

Yup- I made the same newbie mistake. Got a ton of hardcoded URLs in my site. I understand to take those out and make them relative- HOWEVER- some things I don't get...

    1) Does that mean I can't link to Facebook & Twitter, as that's a hard coded http:// URL? Or any other outside URLs for that matter?

    2) I just did a 'View Source' on my page. ALL of my EZ Page links use hard coded URLs. How do I correct that, if those links are generated by Zen Cart directly from within the PHP Code?

    3) If I'm using PayPal Express... where the user goes to the PayPal site to conduct the secure transaction, and then comes back to my site... WHY BOTHER WITH THE SSL at all? Wouldn't it be easier to just take the SSL out of my site, since, I'm not processing credit cards on my own server?

Thanks in advance for all the help, guys! I sincerely appreciate it!

A link that must be clicked is not the issue as these are allowed and will not trigger the insecure status

ok- so anything that is drawing content INTO the page to be displayed is the issue then? ie- a banner, a graphic image (like all mine are), even a script or something. Correct? That makes sense.

It looks as tho ZenCart is setup to ALWAYS generate the pages off the base URL of index.php. So, if I assume it will ALWAYS come off that page, I should be able to code relative URLs into the template, and not worry about which page will end up calling them to the browser, etc. Right?

I should be able to re-code all my templates/images back to be relative URLs... thanks for the help!

Would this also be the reason why I am able to see my 'Check out with PayPal' button on the shopping cart page while using FireFox- but NOT IE? Again- when using IE, I add something to the cart, it takes me to the shopping cart page. I never get the SSL Content error on this page... HOWEVER- I notice my PayPal button is missing off this page, but only when using IE (not firefox).

    Any explanation for that?
