    Default Google Webmaster Tools

    I am trying to use Google Webmaster Tools and am having trouble with where to put the varification code.
    Google gives this example. (Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site's home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.)
    Eample:
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta name="google-site-verification" content=" code" />
    <title> My title </title>
    </head>
    <body>
    page contents
    </body>
    </html>
    I have no idea of where to insert this code. Can anyone tell me where to place the code and if I need to add anything. I am a real novice and need help. I have tried listing it several places but each time I try to varify it does not work.
    I want to figure out how to write a good robot text and get it recognized by the search engines.

    Why not just create a Google verification HTML page instead?

    Thank you. I search for 2 days and did not see the thread with the link to add a new file into your custom template folder's jscript folder. Link - http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...7&postcount=18 . I think this solves the problem if not I will add a google html page . I got caught up in placing the code and did not think of adding a separate google html page with the code.
    Thank you again for your quick response and help. Sometimes, this stuff is overwhelming those of us who are novices at this.
