bug Add to cart button from my main domain name to my shopping cart

    Hi everyone!

I am trying to find a way to add a "Add to cart" button from my main domain name to my shopping cart from the same domain name but I can't find a way to do it.

As an example I have a product listed here:

    http://www.hammondb3andleslietips.co...filtercaps.htm

and I would like the system to work so that when the customer click on this add to cart button the cart in my catalog would gather the order and actually put this item in his shopping cart so that the customer don't have to click "add to cart" another time. I am affraid that if he have to do this he will be confused and he will be affraid to submit a multiple order.

    http://www.hammondb3andleslietips.co...roducts_id=189

The second link is the same product as shown on link one but once the customer is there he still have to click "add to cart" another time to actually put the item in his cart.

    I am using zencart V. 1.3.8a

Any help will be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

This is because this is not how ZenCart is designed to be used...
You can not use just pieces that you want such as the add to cart function on some other page

    Hi,

Ok thanks thats exactly the answer I was affraid to get. I wanted to add a shopping to my site but I don't want to stop using my site and start using the zen cart as my main site.

I think that this is a weaknest in zencart because I don't use short description I use really long salesletter and I can't really do this in zencart..

    Thanks,

    Pat

Try it as I do not think that you are limited as to the length within reason on a product info page
I do not think that you will find this as a weakness

As far as using it in pieces - - there are many reasons that this is not advised/allowed and taken care of within the structure of ZenCart

I came upon this post while researching and testing Zen Cart and X-Cart for the same reason....use "add to cart" snippets that can be pasted into existing static html pages.

I believe I found the solution on x-cart. It is called "advanced HTML links with selectable quantity and product options support - links allowing a visitor of an external page to see the price of the product, to select the number of product items that need to be added to the shopping cart and to specify the product options with which they wish these items to be added.

It would be great if there is a similar solution in Zen Cart. It makes it easier for small stores with few items to use this cart.

Well in this case you are NOT using the cart Just a buy now button on your htnl pages along with the security ho;es present is this approach

In ZenCart - - One can make the pages resemble most any html page and remain within the cart structure, complete with integrated add to cart functionality.
