Do I need a SSL?

I have not got a SSL now. Should I have one? If so, when I purchase one, what do I do to Zen-Cart to make it have the https:// instead of http:// or do I even know what I'm talking about.? SSL is very confusing to me.

IF not required by your payment method then it is optional BUT makes your site look professional and that you care about securing your customers private details

ZenCart is already setup to know when to invoke SSl and when it is not required - -

I'm not kobra, but I'm sure Paypal Website Payments Pro requires SSL.

I contacted godaddy. I already had one from 2 years ago that has been auto-renewing. I followed the tutorial and checked it out. Everything is working great. How about the Seal.
