Default Not strictly a Zen-Cart question, but I'll ask anyway...

I just came across something that I can't quite get my head around, and was hoping maybe somebody could answer my question. It's probably so basic I should be ashamed to ask, but I'll ask anyway...

I've just created a logo for a non Zen Cart shop in Fireworks (as a PNG) and then exported it as a JPG to this site - If you look at the bottom where it says Nuselska 60, why is the background image a lot lighter than in the left hand nav where it says eShop when I used the same Hex colour of #C1C99B when I created the PNG file?

Feel free to beat me with a stick for asking such a basic question, but I honestly don't know the answer

    No stick required.

Colorzilla says the color in the nav bar is C1C99A - might be enough to make it look slighly different.

Hmmm, still don't understand why it's changed though from C1C99Bto C1C99A, I can only assume when I've exported it that for some reason Fireworks is altering it for whatever reason

Doesn't really matter at the end of the day, the client doesn't like his new logo anyway LOL

It could also be that one has white writing on and the other has black writing on. We partially perceive shades based on the brightness of things they are next to.

A PNG in a graphics program has the ability to have more colors that the web can reproduce. Notably, when exporting image files the colors are adjusted for web use... reduced.
