I'm using v1.3.8a on http://store.mmw.ie/

I paid a company to program/install a detailed product search facility in a side box as i have zero knowledge of php etc.

The module works fine when the classic template is selected but gets messed up if i change to another template - it displays the side box but the search doesnt work so i'm assuming they changed some core files.

the question is where do i go from here?

I'm assuming i can just compare the classic template files (includes/templates/classic) on my server with a standard set to see what was changed but what do i do with the changes to allow me to use the override system - where should they have been put? template_default folder?

I'm happy enough to use the css files to customise the classic template if its too involved to correct this mess.

if i leave things as they are, when i want to install a module myself, do i just change the YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE folders to "classic" and install to the core classic folder?

BTW I asked the company to fix this but they want to charge me the full original price again.
