Default Meta-Tag file location and indexing ?

    Ver 1.8.1a

Just want to confirm the corretc locati0oj for the Meta-Tag file is :
    /public_html/includes/languages/english/CUSTOM FOLDER

And, does it take a few days before the new file is indexed and reflected on my aite?

When I do a VIEW SOURCE for my site I am still seeing the old MetaTag file information

    That page is not "indexed".

It is used to assist in the composition of all your site's dynamic pages.

    What will happen is this.

The search engines will visit your site and (if the internal linking is logical) they will "browse" your site as would a normal human being. As they follow the links, the site will "create" the pages for them, from which the content will be evaluated and ranked - and if the SE considers a page worthy enough, it will cache the page and index it.

You can assist the SE's by using SITEMAPS XML module, and then (via the SE webmaster dashboard) submit these XML Sitemaps for trawling.

A robots.txt file - appropriately configured to point to the xml sitemaps is an added bonus.

If you are seeing "old" info, you have probably edited the wrong file (wrong location) of you have not uploaded the edited file to the proper location.

So, is my file path correct?

And, if so, WHY is my site not picking up the Metatag file information?

From your ZC forum signature I visited your site, and if this is the one you are referring to, then the EDITED meta_tags.php should be in

    includes/languages/english/kevin/meta_tags.php

I suggest you ftp a COPY of that file to your hard drive and see if it is the one you edited...

If OLD data (stuff that was in the original meta_tags.php file) is still showing then the ONLY way that can happen is because the OLD data is still being referenced.

I thought the robots.txt file was an "exclusion" file and NOT have any actual benefits for SEO.
