Newsletter "subscribe" is missing

I never changed anything (voluntarily) on the newsletter subscription settings but i found that on the main page of my store, there is ONLY a Newsletter UNSUBSCRIBE and not a SUBSCRIBE. That means that anyone wanting to subscribe cannot do it from the main page and such, but only when they place an order.

I just suspect that there is a wrong link pointing the wrong way, but i dont know where to find it to edit it. Can someone just tell me where to look and what to edit? I am sure it must be something minor.

Unless you've installed the Newsletter Subscribe mod, there is no newsletter-subscribe-only function in Zencart. The Create Account page is the only place visitors can subscribe.

Ok, that would be fine with me, but then, how can i have a "subscribe" instead of "unsubscribe" and maybe link that to go and create an account? I just find odd that if you go to the main page, as a guest, you can only see a "unsubscribe" option by default showing up, kwim?

ikwym, but I guess I've been working with Zencart long enough that it seems natural that way. You can turn that link off in Admin - Configuration - Email Options

You could add a 'Subscribe' link to the Create Account page in the More Information box, but that might confuse people.

If you think your shop will attract a lot of people who will want your newsletter without buying anything first, the Newsletter Subscribe mod might be your best bet.
