Warning: You have duplicate sort orders

Greetings,

I have a new installation of Zen Cart that is working quite well and will be turned over to my client next week.

There is one troubling "problem" that I see that I have not been able to resolve nor have I been able to find an answer to this that makes sense for my particular situation.

When the Payment Modules page is accessed as admin the following error is across the top of the page:
WARNING: YOU HAVE DUPLICATE SORT ORDERS WHICH WILL RESULT IN CALCULATION ERRORS
PLEASE CORRECT THESE ISSUES NOW!

The problem is only two payment modules are enabled: Credit Card - Offline Processing and Check/Money Order. They are set up with sort order 1 and 2 respectively.

All other payment modules are either disabled (turned off) or have not been installed. I honestly didn't see any way to remove the modules from the payment page and there is no way to change the sort order without installing them first, and that is not a reasonable option.

This error message does not apparently affect the functionality of the cart but I am hesitant to turn this over to my client with such a large and obvious error on the page. Doesn't exactly instill confidence.

Any helpful assistance would be much appreciated!

What version of Zen Cart are you using?
Version v1.3.8a/v1.3.8

Has your site been upgraded?
No, new installation.

What addons have you installed?
None

In what ways is your site customized or different from a brand new uncustomized install?
Replaced default logo and header background, made a couple of CSS changes affecting text.

WHEN did the problem "start"?
Immediately after installation of Zen Cart.

How does that compare with other events of your hosting company, changes you've made to your site files/addons, or your admin settings, etc?
Nothing that I know of.

If this is your first store, have you tested all aspects of transactions before going live?
Site is not live yet. Testing has not revealed any issues so far.

Only install the Payment modules that you are really going to use ...

Then, either leave ALL of the Sort Orders to 0 ... or assign unique values to each Payment Module installed ...

Do not leave Payment Modules installed and set to disabled ...

The only way that I found to remove this problem was to ftp into the site and delete unwanted payment modules.

A request for a new "feature" - make it easier to remove problematic payment modules or don't have them preload with the cart software.

Not such a good idea to delete unwanted payment modules from the server.

You just need to select the unwanted module and click the remove button. If you should decide to use one of these modules at a later stage then hit the install button and bingo the module is back again.
