    Default Problem renaming admin folder - v1.38a

    Hi there,

    I have tried to do the admin patch (change admin name) on zen cart 1.38a and after this I can not get in the admin.

    I changed the file permissions as suggested but I think it is not properly changing back somehow.

    Any idea's on the best fix for this..... fairly new to zen cart so not too good at this

    any help appreciated

    Hi,

    Are you getting any error messages? If there are no errors appearing it could be a cookie issue, clear your cookies and try again.

    Regards,
    Christian.

    Most likely you have missed something in your /shop/newadmindir/includes/configure.php file.

    Are you sure you were in admin/includes/configure.php and not just includes/configure.php? (just taking a shot here, not sure how you made the changes)

    As far as file permissions go, you may need to change them in cPanel as opposed to ftp.

    Good Luck, hope it all comes together.

    Hi Dalton,

    I followed these instructions >> https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=33

    Also my web guy had a go and failed too? is there something else that needs to be done extra?

    Defo the Admin > Includes folder that this was done on

    I even copied and pasted the new admin folder name to prevent mistakes.

    Does this have anything to do because I have a folder called shop then admin so looks like this .... shop>admin

    Also noticed a admin.php file? any changes needed for this

    No changes need to be made to the admin.php file just the configure.php file.

    If you can post the contents of your configure.php file here between PHP tags then someone might be able to spot if there is a problem. Just blank out the sensitive parts with XXXs.

    Christian.

    I have just edited these area's as advised;

    define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/shop/**********/');
    define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/shop/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/shop/**********/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/shop/');

    and;

    define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/********/public_html/shop/**********/');
    define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/********/public_html/shop/');

    I have used astrix as I dont want to post this fully on the site for obvious reasons
