Problem renaming admin folder - v1.38a

And This

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/mysitename.com/www/public/shop/mynewname/');
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/mysitename.com/www/public/');


Notice you are only pointing to SHOP in DIR_FS_ADMIN

Past this, I'm in over my head, and hopefully CJPinder can fix it for you,

I have tried this lots of times.... no joy, this is stupid! why not bring out a version with all the updates included i.e. the pacthes

..... I am now thinking that zen cart was a bad move

What exactly is the error message you get now? And how do you make that error appear? ie: what URL are you going to, etc?
If it's still telling you it can't find the OLD url where /admin/ is listed as the foldername, then your FTP program isn't uploading your changes, probably due to file permissions.

And, for the record, renaming your admin folder has nothing to do with whether code patches are included or not. It's just best-practice. If you can't rename your admin, then don't. But if you can't, then you probably have some other problems on your site that need addressing, or maybe it's just the file-permissions thing again.

read that and confident everything has been done correct on the file permissions, I have cpanel access so all done via file manager

..... at a total loss, site will have stay as it is

sorry I will explain... when doing the admin rename I just end up at the shop instead of the admin sign in page, I should be able to sign into the admin (new name) but I cant.

I get a error 404 page not found? but still on the shop page? ..... only way I can explain it
