Default Build a Static Menu with Rollovers

    Hello,

I am semi-new to zen cart. I have built a few sites, but I have never been as picky about the menu on a ZC site as I have been on my current project.

I am looking to include a menu, probably static (I think), with rollover jpegs like the attached mockup. I have tried a number of add on solutions but am convinced its going to take something more. Can anyone help? How would I create a menu, position it on the site as in the attached mockup, with each menu item having a rollover effect. I could do this in HTML but I do not know how to integrate it into ZC.

At a loss, any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

This can be accomplished by using the CSS Horizontal Dropdown Menu using your background images.

    Hope this helps.

I have that add-on installed but I cannot figure out how to A) position it so that it is in the position illustrated in the mockup and, B) cannot figure out the css to make each button a unique image and, C) make each unique image link to the category of the same name, I don't need drop-down effects on this site.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

Sorry if I am intruding on your forum, but I was wondering if you might know of a similar mod that would work for the sidebox categories. My site has well over 20 Categories so the horizontal bar doesn't really cut it and I have it disabled. I am loving for a hover when mouse over effect or a click with dropdown without refreshing the page (this one I have seen on a zen-cart page before)

red flag Re: Build a Static Menu with Rollovers

OK. I figured something out. I ended up creating a new div layer in the tpl_header.php file just inside the logowrapper div, then created CSS rollover buttons and used the CSS to position everything.

I am a novice to this programming stuff so I am sure its not the prettiest format wise, but it works, for now, and I'm happy.

I will say that even though "GET EM FAST's" suggestion wasn't exactly what I needed, it did get me looking around in the code and ultimately helped me discover how to make this work.

    So for that, THANKS!!

It takes a little work with the css to position your background images, and you can take out the menu parts not needed and still have the rollover effect.

You might try the CSS Flyout Menu. You can find it HERE. You can view this in action on my site.

Really... Maybe it is fact, but you did not offfer any solutions to the problems you mentioned.

I'm not certain, but I believe that is the definition of "un-constructive" if in fact that is a word. :)

Thank you anyway, and if you do have a suggestion that you think may solve some of my problems I would love to hear them. I am still learning after all.
