Blank fields after form validation error

My forms are getting blank after validation error.
For instance when customer filled in the create account form and forgot to check the box about agreement to Privacy Policy.
An error notice occurs, as it should, but all filled fields are blank again.

Please suggest me where the cause might be?

Am wondering same thing, I am getting this error too, after a state is not entered and it asks you to choose a drop down... the rest of the form is blank.

You need to find the PHP error that is causing part of the page to be blank:

Failing that, inspect all your files for mismatches between your customizations and the original files, to see what you've broken:

Its not the page being blank, the page is OK, its the create account form fields are blank after a validation error (or "please choose a state from the drop down"). Its like the fields entered in the original form are lost and not being entered in the form fields again after validation error.

I have not customised anything to do with the create account pages, which is why I am a little stumped. I cant think of what else I may have customised, not account creating related, that would affect this.

Well, I just did a quick test here, and it doesn't blank out the fields on me. So, it seems that a fresh clean install without customizations appears to work fine. Thus, it suggests something's amuck with one of your addons or customizations. I'd start with the comparison approach discussed in the Diagnosing Obscure Issues link I posted earlier.

Ok thanks... just wondered if anyone has seen this before, as comparing all files would be quite a task! Will investigate again in future. Maybe be better to follow the process from form submission to where the fields are populated again, to see where the values are being stripped out.

Comparing all files takes about 2 minutes if you use an automated tool like WinMerge (as mentioned in that same article).
