Default New template not showing (includes template_info.php)

i have created all the necessary folders and placed them in the includes/templates directory, and have included a 'template_info.php' file with all of the info specified in tutorials and my new template is not showing up in the admin area.

i have repeated the process several times and can't figure out what could be wrong.

    can anyone help?
    thanks,

Most (but not all) template packages have these folders:

    includes/languages
    includes/modules
    includes/templates

    Are they uploaded as well?

As I understand it, the template_info.php file in itself should add the new template name to the dropdown in admin, as long as it's in the right place, which would be in the includes/templates/YOUR_NEW_TEMPLATE folder.

that's the impression that i was under also. but after several attempts at creating a new folder and placing the files, and copy pasting the existing template, i have no idea what to do.

have you never had this problem?

    No, never.

You might go here http://(sorry, site offline) and download and install one of the free templates. If that shows up in admin, then you're doing something wrong, maybe in the creation or editing of the template_info.php file.

You might post the contents of that file here, too.
