Can't add new products

I changed the model names under product types except for Product - Free Shippingshipping.
I can't add any items under the other option even after i put back the original names.
I can add items under the Product - Free Shipping
How do I fix this
or do I have to reinstall

When you made your edits, you probably changed a CONSTANT or made some other error that php didn't like.

Go back to the files you edited - particularly the one that is appearing to cause the problem - and go over your edits to make sure you have not fouled up the php SYNTAX.

When you edit the code files, the following advice may be helpful.

1. Make a BACKUP of the file before you edit it. Create a special folder - either on your server or local drive - where you can store these backups during your edits.
2. FTP a copy to your hard drive, and edit it off your harde drive, using a PLAIN TEXT EDITOR. Notepad++ (not notepad... this one is NOTEPAD++) is a good plain text editor.
3. Save the edited copy on your hard drive.
4. FTP it to the server (if it is an override file, then it should go into your CUSTOM template override folders)
5. if your edits break the cart, restore the backup copy/copies.
6. Open the edited version on your hard drive and try to see where you have gone wrong.

All I changed was the names
Stupid thing to do but i misunderstood what the edit meant
I never changed any of the edit layout
I did add some pictures to each item
do I have use file manage in my cpanel to remove the pictures
Could some body give me the default list that appears in the
Product type page

i changed these with the edit not the layout edit
I did a bad ting i didn't remember the original names so these my be the wrong
The order may also be wrong heck the names could even be wrong.
I searched but couldn't find the original names.
the only thing i did was go was Admin / catalog / product type
and changed the names there except for the last one
Product - Free Shipping and this one lets me add new product
the ones above give me a 404 error page to hostgator
I never edited anything in the edit layout

Ok I put in the correct names.
but except for the free shipping i still get the 404 error
