    Default Group Pricing Settings Won't Save?

    I need to have the two different pricing structures - one for wholesale and one for retail - easy right - just set it up in the Group Pricing section of admin then at the bottom of the specific customers file under the "options" fields - simply change their "Discount Pricing Group" to one that has been set up.

    Well I have done this a thousand times (well maybe 20 or so times :) ) but it doesnt [I]remember[I] the setting after I click on update.

    Is there another step that needs to be done to allow this to happen?

    Cheers

    That should be it - it works OK for me in my stock test site.

    I'm guessing you're expecting the group pricing to display in the product listing and product info pages. The built-in Group Discount feature only shows the discount at checkout. I believe this mod shows members of the group their pricing throughout:

    I set myself up an account for my store so that I can always try things out on myself before unleashing it onto others :)

    That being said, of course I attempted to set myself to the wholesale group price category as per the process mentioned in original posting.

    When I click on update I then return to admin/customers to view the customer listing - this provides a quick view of the customers and has the column "Group Pricing" and allows it to be viewed in assending or decending order - but it only ever shows my customer file and all others as "none"

    What I do next is go back to the public view of the website and log in as a customer and attempt to purchase and go through the checkout process to see if at any stage the group pricing discount is given - alas it is not....

    Is there something in the actual coding in file manager I have to set to "on" for group pricing?

    At the moment I give all new customers a one off 10% discount but have to use the discount coupon process and this is fine - but once a customer orders "x" number of times I want to set them to a "special customer pricing" giving them that 10% discount on each purchase - I could do that for them advising of an exclusive coupon code - but it is messy and I really would prefer for them to be placed in the group price discount category....

    Once again - any suggestions are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

    Cheers

    There is a Group Discount option in Admin - Modules - Order Total, but it is usually enabled by default.

    Double checked the "Admin - Options - Order Total - Group Discount" and it states...

    "This module is installed - true"

    So you see why I am at a bit of a loss....it should be working.... waaah

    If there are other admin functions that don't 'take', it may be you made a mistake installing the admin security patch, by installing the patch files to the cart folders rather than admin.

    Another possibility is a corrupted file, I guess. As a last resort you might upload the admin folders and files again, overwriting the ones there now.

    When I go to Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit and do a search for "Group Pricing" - the following is returned...

    includes/languages/english/group_pricing.php

    Line #22 : define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Group Pricing');

    Line #46 : define('ERROR_MODULE_NOT_CONFIGURED','NOTE: You have group pricing definitions, but you have not enabled the group-pricing Order Total module.<br />Please go to Admin->Modules->Order Total->Membership Discount (ot_group_pricing) and install/configure the module.');

    so with this in mind - I uninstalled the group pricing module and then did a re-install but it has had no effect.

    I have double checked your latest suggestion - absolutely a distinct possibility that I could have placed the security patch in the wrong folder - again I used the developers tool kit to do a search for "security patch" and the following was returned outlining that it was in fact in the admin folder...

    security_patch_v138_20090619.php

    I am happy to keep trying any suggestions you can throw my way because I am all out of ideas and by the way - THANK YOU for the time and effort you have already invested in trying to help find a solution!
