red flag Needing an idiot proof photo gallery

I have been looking through the forums and have found at least 4 different photo galleries. I am looking mainly at the gallery2. Main problem is that the instructions for installation seems to be for the PHP advanced...which I am not. Can anyone point me to a link or something where I can get step by step directions on how to install this to zen cart. I have already spent a whole weekend researching and I still haven't made any progress. All help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Lisa

I did not find installation of Gallery2 any more challenging than installing zencart - though the process involves a bit more attention.

What is it that you are struggling with?

(I have not INTEGRATED Gallery2 into ZC, because my client's site just uses gallery to display larger images of her products. I have just created link associations between the sites. See Karens Cakes site in my sig, below).

Sorry it has taken me soo long to reply. I had to basically step away from the problem, now I have more time to work on it! Under the installation steps in the readme..my problem starts here:
    2) In your Gallery 2 Site Administration, click on "Modules," find "Zen Cart" under the "Commerce"
    heading, and click "configure."
    3) Enter the full (absolute) path to your Zen Cart installation (i.e.
/home/michael/public_html/zencart/). The trailing slash is important.
    4) Select the category in Zen Cart in which you would like your Gallery items to be put.
    5) Click "activate" next to the Zen Cart listing on the module page and you're done!
Note: If you are using the "Cart" module, you may want to change its "Add Photo to Cart" text to
    avoid confusing users.

Is the Gallery 2 site talking about the actual Gallery2.org or is it talking about my website? I have put all the files where it should be. Where are the files to integrate to the database?

If you are referencing "In your Gallery 2 Site Administration, click on "Modules,", then this is definately your install on your web server.

The gallery install will have it's own DB and no "integration" is required

ok I'm going to backtrack for a second. I ftp the files to my server in the correct locations, but I do not see anything regarding gallery2 in my zencart admin site. What am I missing?

You have to install the gallery first - like set it up just as one sets up Zen Cart - - it will be another install

    Hi Kobra,

If you wish to integrate gallery with zen cart, can you integrate it with an installed zen cart site , or must gallery drive it, ie a gallery install and then zen cart installed as a directory of gallery , and then linked accordingly ?
