    Default Problems with admin page

I am running zen cart 1.2.8a on windows using xampp and my database is MySQL client version: 5.1.41. I installed the zc138a-php53patch before installing and can not get into the admin page. I get the following:

    The connection was interrupted

The connection to localhost:90 was interrupted while the page was loading.

    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Do I need to install admin_security_patch_v138 as well and if so what should I be careful of replacing.

    Thank you

Try installing without the patch first
    Then if needed apply patch

You didn't list your version of php???

I seem to be having a problem with my site. I downloaded zen-cart 1.3.8 and was trying too edit my homepage. The tutorial video said too open "index.php" edit it then use "filezilla" too upload the files. I did so and when I did I'm getting the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/someth33/public_html/index.php on line 10

How do I get my home page back???

    What video?
    What are you tryingto change?
Path to the index.php you edited?
    Did you preserve an original?
    If not
    I downloaded zen-cart 1.3.8
Download again, expand locally and replace the file you edited

I downloaded it again, but when I opened the file "includes/language/english/index.php" it apparently downloaded with my updates. I opened the file after re-downloading it and it still has the things I changed in it.
