    Default Problems with admin page

I am running zen cart 1.2.8a on windows using xampp and my database is MySQL client version: 5.1.41. I installed the zc138a-php53patch before installing and can not get into the admin page. I get the following:

    The connection was interrupted

The connection to localhost:90 was interrupted while the page was loading.

    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Do I need to install admin_security_patch_v138 as well and if so what should I be careful of replacing.

    Thank you

Try installing without the patch first
    Then if needed apply patch

You didn't list your version of php???

I seem to be having a problem with my site. I downloaded zen-cart 1.3.8 and was trying too edit my homepage. The tutorial video said too open "index.php" edit it then use "filezilla" too upload the files. I did so and when I did I'm getting the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/someth33/public_html/index.php on line 10

How do I get my home page back???

    What video?
    What are you tryingto change?
Path to the index.php you edited?
    Did you preserve an original?
    If not
    I downloaded zen-cart 1.3.8
Download again, expand locally and replace the file you edited

I downloaded it again, but when I opened the file "includes/language/english/index.php" it apparently downloaded with my updates. I opened the file after re-downloading it and it still has the things I changed in it.

Sorry you also asked "What video". The tutorial video I watched I found in my cPanel at JustHost.com. They are the one's hosting my site. In that video, to change my homepage, it said too open the "index.php" file, then showed me where too type what I wanted too change. When i did, the site went hay-wall! You can see what I mean at www.something-4-everyone.com

What I was trying too change was the text that came with zen-cart. The "title" that said "sales message goes here", was changing it too the store name. As well as the "main text" of the page. Was trying too write a welcome paragraph.

Was following the tutorial video and doing it as I watched, so I know I did exactly what it said too do. Unfortunatly I didn't have the same out come.

Not possible!! If you are doind this correctly....
Go Here and download a new fresh zip
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/zenc...7.zip/download

Once downloaded, locate it on your PC
Make a new folder on your PC and move the zip into it
    Unzip the file there

You now have a fresh unadulterated distribution
