    Default Synchronising with QuickBooks

I have read quite a bit relating to QBI and QuickBooks Sync but it is clear that these utilities do far more than I need, so before embarking on finding out more about them and possibly installing one or other, perhaps I could seek the advice of more experienced folks here ...

I use QuickBooks Professional 2005 and my simple requirement is to run, on a daily basis, some sort of routine which:

    1. Matches the "Item" field from my QB stock list to the "Products Model" field in Zen Cart.

    2. If it finds a match, updates the "Products Quantity" field in Zen Cart to equal the "Quantity on Hand" figure in QB.

    3. Optionally (not essential) updates the "Products Price (Gross)" in Zen Cart to equal the "Gross Price" figure in QB.

This is purely a one-way process - I have no requirement for the data in Zen Cart to update anything in QB.

So will QBI or QuickBooks Sync do what I want? Given the simple nature of what I'm trying to achieve, is there an easier way?

    Thanks in advance.

    Nick

You should be doing this the other way around...
QB is only an accounting package
Use your ZenCart for your inventory control and update QB with corrected sales & inventory

No, that's not what I want to do. Perhaps I should explain further:

As well as the online shop, we run an actual - physical - shop. Sales are put through the till and these figures are then used to update QB at the end of each day.

When I receive an order via Zen Cart, this is processed offline - using the till and credit card machine in much the same way as if the customer was physically present in the shop.

Online orders and sales via the shop are therefore all entered together onto QB at the end of each day. So the QB inventory is completely up-to-date - taking into account both online and shop sales.

All I then need to do is to update Zen cart to match the QB stock figures.

    Regards

To my knowledge none of the QB modules are set up to do this
    Options:

    1. Get a POS system for your Brick & mortar register that runs through ZenCart
    http://www.ollacart-pos.com/faq-pos.php

    2. Learn to use easy populate to do this via spread sheet manipulation from QB to an EP sheet
    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=395

And there is a wiki article on setup & use

Thanks. It looks as though Easy Populate will do what I want.

Unfortunately I can't seem to get it working. I have a feeling I've done something wrong that's blindingly obvious to anyone else (and will be extremely embarrassing when it's drawn to my attention), but:

I uploaded the files to my web space so I now have:

    admin/easypopulate.php
    and
    admin/includes/languages/english/easypopulate.php

but when I start Zen Cart admin, there's no option for Easy Populate on the Configuration menu.

File permissions for both are 644.

    Zen Cart version is 1.3.8a

Is there something else I should have done? I've searched the installation and readme files plus the Wiki but can't see any other steps I need to take.

    Regards

Ignore my previous posting - I realise now that I'd downloaded the latest update patch only, rather than the full install.
