Possible to offer free download ?

Hi,

I'm using zencart 1.3.7
Would like to offer free pdf download to my customers in a categorie called "free download!"...
How to do this ? where to stock the pdf files ?
is it possible for people to download in one click without going through the shopping cart, payment module, etc....
if someone is proposing this on his website, please give me the link so I can see how it looks like online.

You could upload the file either on your server or on somewhere like 4shared and add text in the description that says 'Download Here' and then link it to the download link.

thanks for this...however it do not explain how I should proceed to put my pdf file from my computer to a folder where it should be stock so that I can propose it as a downloadable file on my website. Might seems obvious to you but I'm still new in all this...
Is this option available from the admin ?, how to do to upload the pdf file and where to upload it so I can then make it available to customers ?

You have to create a downloadable product first. See article here:

When you create the product, click on "Yes" under "Product is Free". This way when customers pick this product, it is added to the cart but has $0.00 value.

Something else : in admin - configuration - attributes settings : how to set this different options so that if people buy multiple products including a free download, the button to download appears without waiting for payment confirmation on the my account page ?
