Add a Facebook link?

How do I add a link to a Facebook page? You know one of those "follow us on Facebook" links with the little Facebook icon.

I think we are using version 1.3.7

Search for 'facebook' in the Free Software Add Ons.

Got it thanks. It's a zip file. Now how do I add it to the site?

I'm not getting much help from my web host/designer so I'm having to do this myself.

Unzip the file, and there's a readme file in there with installation instructions.

INSTALLATION:

1. RENAME ALL custom_templates FOLDERS TO YOUR TEMPLATE NAME! Copy/FTP the files and directories in the file folder to the root of
your Zen Cart installation, making sure to preserve the file structure.
2. In includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/custom_template/facebook_box.php enter your facebook profile name/number as well as your API key.
3. In ADMIN TOOLS - BOX LAYOUT SETTING turn facebook_box ON

I think I need this simplified. Sorry for my ignorance.

It can't really be simplified much without a 'get this, do that' kind of explanation that nobody here has time to write.

You have some stuff to learn. Start in the Tutorials/FAQ area (at the top of this page), and search for the terms in that readme you don't understand.

i have added a facebook button to my page but i cant get it all the way over to very right of the page? does anyone know how?

you know you can link your zen cart with SocialeCart app on facebook but I can't find anyone else on here using it but me.:blush:

Did anibody resolve the issue with the wrong picture appearing in the facebook profile?

Maybe adding code to get products_picture ???

According to the guy (on whose page I used above) says that we have no control to what picture FB uses off the page. "I "don't know...just sayin'. If you find something would you please post it here??

still working out issue with prices which they are now helping me with.

it's really quite easy though to link up, you simply create a page , add their app and fill out a simple form with url to your cart and that's it it's all linked up.

the difficult bit comes when you are trying to choose correct configuration on zen to work compatibly eg, don't put '&' in your images or they won't show. my prices are coming up as negatives because of the way i've configured attributes but anyway it is def worth it.
