How can I prevent the customer from seeing admin comments about them or their order?

I know when you uncheck the "Notify customer" the customer dont get any emails.

I have created a test customer and because of the updates and notes i need to write sometimes in the comment about the customer (what has been done etc), sometimes i dont want to inform the customer about this.

Unchecking the "Notify customer" dont send email to him, but the comments are however posted.

How can i do it that whenever i uncheck the "notify customer" the comments are not posted on his order and that he also dont get mail?

I'll avoid your question with a piece of advice.
Never ever use the comment field (or similar) to store information that you don't want a customer to see. If you don't want them to see it, simply don't store it.

Comments such as "what a sucker" stored in a database will eventually reach the wrong hands, usually at the most inappropriate time too.

I can appreciate the desire/need for a non visible comments field, but do be careful what you use it for.

Thanks for your great advice. I appreciate you giving me this tip and that you care.

The comments such as "What a looser" or others who are of negativ character will never be stored in my database. This has something to do with my respect over the customers i have. Beside: Having a negative tone will just make myself more irritating..having a negative tone will give me nothing but frustration.

The comments which i am needed to store in the comment field are for example trackin number for the package, what has been done for this customer(have i sent email to him, called him, given him invoice) and other information.

So are there anyone who knows a fix for this? I also have admin notes, but i find this tool very heavy compared to the comment field.

Hi Ajeh I installed the add on admin notes but I don't know where it is suppose to show up. Either I don't know where to look or I am losing my mind....lol
