One-Time Membership Charge

Hello,

This contribution pushes a 1x membership fee into the shopping cart at account registration. It has been teste on V 1.3.7 but also works for 1.3.6, as far as I know.

This contribution REQUIRES a Hidden Product! There is another contribution that helps with that or it can be done manually. This contribution will not set up that product, it requires you to set it up in advance. (Links to forum threads re same are in the Read_Me_First fiile.)

Please accept my apology for not answering this promptly! I had problems with email earlier this month and didn't get the notification for your post.

That being said, if I understand what you are asking, this modification is not exactly what you are looking for in terms of charging a fee for a fixed period and limiting access based on that fee/period. However, it could be a base for you to use to build off of in order to achieve your goals or give you an idea of where/how to start.

My client needed it to simply charge a "1x enrollment" fee into a membership-based service to cover individual service-related setup costs; all current/future products are available once the viewer is enrolled so there was no need to impose any limits in terms of viewable product or time periods after that point.

As it stands the answer is No, it won't do what you want.

I've done something similar to what you are looking for but I haven't written it up. If you're interested in how I accomplished it let me know and I'll try to make some time later this week to at least give you some ideas/direction.

I am trying to setup my cart so that:

A user must create an account before browsing or purchasing products.
In order to create an account you have to pay a fee.

I have checked out the One-Time membership contribution but I can't seem to get it to work at all and I'm not sure if it is exactly what I need.

Installed 1 Time membership and it works fine on 1.3.8a.

The store owner has two top categories. Items in category 1 do not pay a membership fee. Items in category 2 require a membership fee.

Has anyone done this and if so, how?
