Default Accessing the store on the home page

I know the answer is probably so simple but I've scoured the forums and FAQs and couldn't find the solution.

I've installed the cart and it's working properly but how do I get the store to immediately open on the index page when a customer first types in my store url instead of them having to go to www.example.com/store?

Search Google for htaccess 301 redirect

But it's easy as creating a text file, save it as htaccess.txt on your PC, upload it to your root directory and rename it to .htaccess (note the dot before htaccess)

Quick example as to what you would include in the file:

    Code:
    redirect 301 /index.html/ http://example.cz/shop/

That would entirely depend on your installation. As I see it your store is installed in the sub directory www.example.com/store

If you don't want to use your domain www.example.com for something else (eg general information with your store appended) then I would move / install the store in the root directory example

My site www.frnt.org contains general health information with my stores appended (see signature)

    Or simply follow Twaddle's advice

Thanks to both of you. I knew it was that simple. I couldn't do the 301 redirect because I'm on a windows server but it never occurred to me to install everything directly to the root folder. For some reason I had it in my head that I had to keep it contained in the store folder.
