Problem with Paypal IPN and Download

I'm setting up Zen Cart for the first time and I'm having a problem ordering. I've got products that I sell with multiple downloads. I set it up like in the tutorials, the downloads have a green circle and are selected by default on the product screen.

The problem I get is that after I test-purchase a product through standard paypal the Thank You page has no download links. Also, I checked the Orders and Paypal IPN page and there was no record of the purchase at all.

I have set the URL's in paypal to the one's listed in the zencart IPN module.

What am I missing here? Thanks!

If you're going to use PayPal IPN (Website Payments Standard), then you'll have to live with the fact that sometimes your customers' orders won't show up in your admin right away ... or maybe not at all.

If PayPal's servers are backlogged and don't post the order details to your store immediately then there may be a delay before the details are shown in your store. Sometimes it's immediate. Sometimes it takes hours.

Or, if there's some sort of blockage of communications between PayPal's servers and *your* server, then you'll *never* see the order in your store. You can troubleshoot the communications using these tips: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/PayPal

Or, you can avoid all those problems altogether by using Express Checkout instead of IPN.

Ok I took your advice and set up Express Checkout. Had trouble with it until I turned off CURL proxy. After that everything worked perfect. Thanks!
