Default Problems with the About Us add on?

    Hello,
The version i am using is 1.3.8p3 and my site is LPsigns.com. The problem i am having is with downloading the about us add on. I am having to do this because i could not change the name of page 2 in the sidebox on the main page. Thats another problem . I downloaded all the folders for the about us page and saved them to the correct locations within the Ftp. Everything looks good before i add text to the page. I can edit it within define pages editor but i save the changes and the page doesnt reflect the changes. The permissions are set to writeable. Can you look at it and help me please.

    Thank You.

    Nick

I found something that could be the problem but i don't know what i need to edit in order to be able to add text. Within the admin under the configuration tab there is a define page status where you can change whether you can add text or not. About us is not there but it is on the define pages editor section. This sounds like it could be the problem. How do i get it to register under the define pages status section?

    Try editing your

    tpl_about_us_default.php

    file located in your

    includes/templates/"your custom template"/templates

edit it with your php editor, I use MS Expression Web.

It fixed my same problem just last week.

    Hi Nick,

If you have an editor program like Dreamweaver or Expression Web all you have to do is down load the file to a folder on your computer and add the information into the bottom box.

In the upper box it would start somewhere around line 44 and start out something like this

    <div class="centerColumn" id="about_us">
    <h1 id="aboutUsHeading" class="style1">Topnotch Bass Baits</h1>
<h1 class="style10"><strong>Topnotch Bass Baits consists of 4 guys Al, Bob, ...etc.

Except yours won't be about Topnotch Bass Baits (LOL)

I don't have either of those applications. I have just been using dream host ftp to edit the codes. Would downloading and using one of those web design programs take the place of using the FTP or does it work with it. I just dont want to mess up what i already have. lol

You should download Notepad++ or one of the other open source editors available.
