My products won't display in correct order

I cannot get my products to display in new products in the order I want them to I have set the order at the bottom of the product setup page but it makes no difference it still displays by product id (which was the order I added them I have put them into the sort order I want when I look at the categories/products they are listed in the correct sort order, However when I look at my actual page (new Products) they are listed by ID. I would have thought if the sort order was filled in for each product that would be the order they would be displayed on the page or I am I missing something?

I tried switching back same problem.it's not a cache problem I have opened it on another pc and I still get the same problem

What value do you have in Configuration->Layout Settings->Categories/Products Display Sort Order? The value 0 (zero) seems to do the trick for me.

Try also Configuration->Product Listing->Display Product Listing Default Sort Order. Leave this blank to use the products' defined sort order.

There are separate settings for each of the Listings and for the Product Info page ...

I went through your list all were set to the correct setting exept one (featured listing chagned that to 8 reset page cleared cache but no difference even tried on different pc still no go. Starting to think I should remove all products and reinstall them in order I want. However if I do that I might as well look at changing products because I would have no confidence in zencart. Because if a simple thing like a sort order can't be changed how do I know it will process an order correctly?

Maybe if you had an URL we could peek at and list a category or two of products_id and products_sort_order we could spot what is wrong ...
