    Default directing payment

    Hi,

    We are currently using:

    Zen Cart 1.3.8a

    Patch: 1::

    Database Patch Level: 1.3.8

    We have not made any add ons or adjustments to the site of yet. I have everything working quit nicely but I have one thing I am unsure about:

    is there a way to direct payment from a sale to a few places? IE if we are selling an item for someone can we take 10% commission from the sale automatically and they get the rest, and so on, or can we only get the whole payment them send there share afterwards?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Shawn

    As I see it (and everyone please feel free to correct me ...) ZC is configured to process one payment for one order at a time via one payment processor with all funds for the one order being directed to one recipient (the shop owner).

    I guess it could be done with some customized coding but would definitely be beyond my coding capabilities.

    Exactly right, and as a visitor to your site, I would want you to explain to me where all the money is going, and would probably not want to place an order with part of my payment going to someone other than you.

    Well if we are selling items from "Northface" they would get therre payment from the sale ( then ship to our customer)and we would get our share as a broker.
    Same goes for when we will be selling items on consignment for other members, we would like payment to go to them as well as our share.
    I dont really see how the purchaser would be worried as to how the money gets dispurst after they purchase an item.

    Think about the legal implications: You as the store owner enter into a contractual agreement with your customer(s) when an order is placed.

    In case of a dispute (faulty product, wrong size, .... blah blah blah) the customer is turning to you as the store owner and has every right (at least in most western democracies) to demand from you to rectify the problem. I, as a customer would not care one bit if you were manufacturing, just retailing or acting as a broker. My contract is with you, the shop owner, not with anyone else.

    We are selling products on consignment as well, but that's an arrangement we have with the supplier and has nothing to do with the customer.
