cannot log in to admin

hello,
Am new to this so please help if you can,
Ok our site has been running fine for 2 years,
did all the upgrades when the new ones come out,
but yesterday we cannot log into the site,
the site admin pages said You entered the wrong username or password.
So we have been trying to see if we can change the password and the site admin said You entered the wrong email address.
Now we have not changed anything.
the site is up and running the emails come in ok.
We cannot log in

Still cannot get in,
Have uninstalled the site and started again,
Still have the same problem cannot get into admin

I cannot log in to admin today April 8, got two new passwords, neither one was allowed in. A customer trying to place an order could not submit the order. Don't know what version I have since I can't get in to look at it.
help!

i wish i could help, sorry i dont know...

how long has your store been running?
have you applied all the security patches?
what add-ons and mods you have added?
Have you done a site file compare from now and a past working back up?
have you tried restoring your site from a backup?
What is your server set up/host?
have you contacted your hosts?....

If you give all this info, hopfully one of the ZC God/Devs can help you?...

@nelix45, if you did what was stated in the above URL / Tutorial and still could not log in, then it was done incorrectly. The Tutorial correctly explains how to create a new Admin login and it works every time.

@neldamarie have you tried creating a few fake customer accounts and then testing them to log in?

We still could not get the admin working,so we have closed the site down and started again
