Adding Custom Fields on the product page?

I am using the latest version of Zen Cart and I am a brand new user on a brand new installation using no plugins.

I am using a free layout from Template Monster.

My site URL is http://www.neoxpress.com/shop

I am hoping to learn to add a new field on the page:

http://neoxpress.com/shop/index.php?...&products_id=2

And All other product info pages.

I know which files to edit, I just dont know how to code it in there.
I have the field added, visually, i just dont know how to make it send/get with the zen cart coding.

I want itthe value of it to be relayed to me when I receive the order also.

Anyone know what I mean?

You can dissect them and possibly see how others have done it.

Would this allow me to make it a form field? Where the cart would retrieve the value of the field?

The first mod should do that. Best idea would be to try it out to see whether it's what you're looking for.

You did apply the SQL patch and changed the template name to whatever it is you are using and patched the admin files didnt you?
I have just installed Product Extra Fields and it is excellent!
