How to use web images on site?

Hello,

I am trying to find out if I can use the images my wholesaler gives me. They are in web format ie: http//www.images.com. I used them when I uploaded my products with easy populate but now none of the pictures show up. Please help or let me know if I am unable to use these.

You need to check what you put on the easy populate spreadsheet for "image name".

Each item should have an image name. It should look something like this:
images/widgets/widget01.jpg

This would tell Zen the image widget01.jpg is located in the images/widgets directory. (you can put them in the main images folder, or in any subdirectories.. just remember to "tell" Zen where to look for the image)

If you are trying to use images hosted elsewhere for your products, that won't work. You need to copy the images into your own server.

Thank You. That is what I wanted to know. Boy do I have a task ahead of me. All the images have the web links so I will have to remove a few thousand of them to get the images to work.

If your supplier provides a list of URL's to their images, then you can use a scraper tool to get them off their server...

We just collected 10,000 images off a server in a matter of a few hours.
