Viewing 'users shopping cart' within 'Who's Online'

Just a quick question - Should I be able to see a 'users shopping cart' within my 'who's online' page? - only asking, as I've noticed a few references to this feature within a few posts.

I've never seen this on my 'who's online' page (logged in customers or visitors with 'green' carts )- so not sure if this is something that I have to turn on?

If you store your sessions in the database, then you should be able to see it ...

There are instances where it still won't work and some customization of the whos_online.php might be required ...

I know next to nothing about 'sessions'.
According to my admin ==> configuration ==> sessions info, sessions 'directory' is /clientdata/clients/p/a/'my site' /www/cache

So - that's not going to a database, rather a directory?

There are instances where it still won't work and some customization of the whos_online.php might be required ...

If it doesn't always work - what would one have to do to make it show up?

peek inside your two configure.php files for where the sessions are stored ...

my includes/configure.php = define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'db');

my admin/includes/configure.php = define('STORE_SESSIONS', '');
// for STORE_SESSIONS, use 'db' for best support, or '' for file-based storage

hmmm - should they be the same?

You need them both to be stored to the database ...
