How can I put custom text in the middle of my home page?

Ok, I understand that I can make a modification to my main page (only) by using ez pages: so I've used ez pages to insert the html code for the picture/link into my main_page.php but it places it at the top of the page. I'd like to place this picture below my links, and hopefully smack dab in the center of the page. Is this do-able using the ez-pages ? I've attached a picture, which shows the area I'd like to use ... "X' marks the spot.... thanks

Admin >>> Tools >>> Define Pages Editor...

select: define_main_page.php

Thanks for the suggestion... I first tried that but it puts the info above the categories and I'm trying to get that info in the space below them... is there something I'm not understanding on getting it on define_main_page ?

This post has instructions to put text both above and below your featured/new/special product listings. It worked perfectly for me but others have not been able to get it to work. There's no reason why you couldn't insert the new define_main_page_lower between your listings.
