How do I get rid of the grey navigation (Appliances, Furniture, Housewares, Books) which is under the "Adam and Mina's Registry" picture?
I only want the naviation on the side. I don't need the one on the top as well.

No, that's the category tabs - you can turn it off in Admin - Configuration - Layout Settings.
