Header and margin problems with logo and whitespace

Cannot center logo or reduce white space above and below. Have trawled through some threads and tried quite a few different things. This one is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?

Instead of making UT_logo_background_curved.gif a backgroung image
Rename it as "logo.gif" and let ZenCart use the default code to display it - - then you can center it with the stylesheet

The image currently has the white space attached or as part of the image as it is 205px high where the actual color part is about 100px high
Correct this with your graphic editor
